 These 2 Skills Are Most Important For Portrait Photo Editing 

Introduction: 

    Photo Editing is the process in which we enhance our normal photo into a great to give it a professional look without photo editing your photo will not get a look which can attract your eyes not others too because our eyes like to see vivid and vibrant colors it can be only get from presets, effects and by photo editing for making your photo eye catchy then you should edit your photo. There 2 main Photo editing skills which can provide your picture a most professional look. which are those 2 skills one is Photo Retouching and second one is Color grading.

No.1 Photo Retouching 

    Face Retouching is the process in which we enhance our normal photo by making our face smooth and removing dark spots and circles from your face and other body parts and reducing blemishes, wrinkles and other imperfections on a subject's skin also whitening the teeth and face. it gives your picture a best look also your face will be shiny and attractive basically it is artificial makeup you better know that to make up your face how long time it takes and also your face can be affected by make up because it has made up from various chemicals that's why face retouching process best if you have editing skill. There are a lot of techniques and various apps for face retouching by which you can easily make your face smooth and shiny. 

How to face retouch  in Photoshop? 

There are a lot of techniques for face retouch  in photoshop but I will share One of the most common technique that every photoshop user use to retouch or smooth face of their portrait photo. Just follow these steps for face retouching.

Step no 1:

    It is  necessary that you should have photoshop software in your computer or in your laptop if you don't have then you can download it from various websites from this link you can also download the photoshop 2023.

Before you install Adobe Photoshop 2023 Free Download you need to know if your system meets recommended or minimum system requirements

• Operating System: Windows 10/11 (most updated versions only)
• Memory (RAM): 8 GB of RAM required.
• Hard Disk Space: 4 GB of free space required for full installation.
• Processor: Intel Pentium i3, Multi-core GHz or higher.

Step no 2:

   After photoshop download complete. You have to open photoshop in your computer or in your laptop then open your portrait picture in photoshop after that create a duplicate copy of your portrait picture for duplicate you have to single click on your portrait picture then just Press Control + J on your keyboard then tap one duplicate layer of picture after that select eye dropper tool to select the color of skin for selecting the skin color drag eye dropper tool on your skin then right click your skin color will be  selected after that go to brush left click on it and select mixer brush tool and put these values on brush then  make skin smooth by click and drag brush on the skin do it with multiple clicks. if you are not able to do it perfect then in the end I  have also uploaded a tutorial video then you will be able to make your face smooth clearly.

    No. 2 Color Grading 

Color grading is the process in which we adjust the colors and tones of a picture to achieve a specific visual look or mood which you want to add. It allows you to make overall tune of photo better by  maintaining the color balance, contrast, saturation, and overall look of your photos. here I am describing basics steps of color grading.

How to Perform Color Grading in Photoshop:

1. Open your photo in adobe photoshop to color grade it.

2. Make Duplicate Layer of your photo to work non-destructively, for making duplicate just right-click on the photo layer in the Layers panel and then select "Duplicate Layer." it will create a copy of your photo that you can edit without affecting the original photo.

3. Convert your duplicate photo into smart object first should that what is smart object?  Smart Object is a feature that lets you work on your images and layers without making permanently change  the original data. It is very useful to work on your pictures non-destructively while editing, maintaining image quality, and easily making changes to the content inside.

Smart Object feature is commonly used for creating  mockups, logos, retouching, and design templates. to converting your image layer into a smart object you have to right click then Select " Convert to smart object " then your picture will be converted into smart object 

4. Go to filter section and click on camera raw filter you can also use shortcut keys to open the camera raw filter ( CTRL +SHIFT +A) this shortcut is just for windows not for MacBook. In Camera raw filter their you will get a lot of tool, presets and effects to color grade your picture.

 

5. First do Basic adjustments 

Temperature, Tint, Exposure, Contrast, Highlights, Shadows, Whites, Blakes, Texture, Clarity and Dehaze according to your picture look after basic adjustment done then go to curves section to give it more moody look with the help of curves you can adjust specific part or area of your photo.

Basically curve is graph it has three sections first highlights second one is midtones and third one is shadows by making points you can adjust it after that go forward in color mixer section their you can change every color of your picture according to you. You can hue of colors Saturation and also luminance  of colors in your picture. Now comes toward color wheel in you will get three color wheels 

first for shadows second for midtones and third for highlights with the help of color wheels you can give specific color to your shadow, midtone, and highlight part of your picture. after adjusting these all things then your picture achieve a better look you can also add more things into your picture like Masks, vignette, sharpness and many more it depends on you.
